Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE)

This is a surgical procedure that removes small portions of testicular tissue under local anesthesia and sedation. We use it when men are found to have azoospermia (no sperm in the ejaculate). This can be as a result of a blockage, l absence of the vas deferens (tubes which transport semen) or possible testicular failure. Retrieved sperm can be used for an ICSI cycle or frozen for use at a later date.
