HARI Embryologist awarded a grant to develop new fertility preservation techniques

Dr. Lynne O'Shea, has received funding as part of the Irish Research Council Enterprise Partnership Scheme, that will enable HARI, in partnership with UCD, to pursue innovative research in the area of fertility preservation.

As the National Gamete Cryopreservation Centre, HARI is focused on being a driving force for the development and improvement of techniques available to oncology patients in order to preserve their fertility with ovarian tissue freezing gaining considerable interest as a potential option for female cancer patients.

Dr. O'Shea will use this funding to further research and to develop the technology to successfully freeze ovarian tissue with the aim of re-implanting this tissue following chemotherapy.

Miracle Babies for Organ Recipients

From everyone at HARI, we would like to send big congratulations to Emma O'Sullivan and her husband John who successfully gave birth to their baby boy Ewan after attending our clinic for treatment. Emma has had two kidney transplants in the past and thought she might never have children.

Speaking to Emma last week about her experience with HARI, she said how she found HARI to be "really brilliant, with friendly and helpful staff so I felt little or no stress going through my treatment."

We wish the O'Sullivan family a healthy and happy future together!

A Good Reception at HARI

Under the watchful eye of award winning architect Nikki O'Donnell of NODA, we have recently completed a tasteful upgrading of HARI to provide you with greater comfort and care.

The warm welcome of our staff remains the same but now the upgraded facilities and freshly brewed coffee helps you leave the outside world behind, once you step into HARI.

Run Baby, Run

The charity run was organised by ESHRE to support the action of our partner patient organisation Fertility Europe in favor of equal access to fertility treatment in Europe.

Participants ran 5 km along the old docks of London, enjoying the view on the Thames and its entirely revitalised riverside. Lisa Larkin and Joan Kelly (HARIS's nurses team) compete in the ESHRE fun run in London earlier this month!!
