Congratulations

We are truly delighted that you have achieved a positive pregnancy test. As HARI does not have facilities for pregnant women we would recommend that you should make immediate contact with an ante natal clinic of your choice (public or private)  either  directly or through your General Practitioner.  While we do not look after the pregnancy itself we will arrange a confirmatory ultrasound scan 3 weeks following a positive pregnancy test.  Please contact HARI for such an appointment.  Upon confirmation of an ongoing pregnancy a letter of referral will be sent from HARI to your doctor of choice.  

Unfortunately not in all cases will a scan show a continuing pregnancy as complications of pregnancy can occur after IVF, too.  Such complications include miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies (the pregnancy is situated outside your womb). Both need to be dealt with by a hospital based service and we will always refer such cases to the Rotunda Hospital for follow up.

For the purpose of self audit and ability to counsel future patients as regards success rates and also complications of pregnancy we request couples to feedback details of their pregnancy outcome namely date of delivery, mode of delivery, sex of baby, weight and general well being.  For couples who wish to do this on-line there is a specially designed form which you can now access here.

It is always very welcomed that you send us a photograph of your new treasure so it can be displayed in our Gallery.  Couples are also encouraged to attend before end of business between 3.45pm and 4.00pm to show us their new arrival.
